As a first-time mum and yoga newbie I joined a Yogabumps class where Jackie taught yoga and relaxation techniques but she also shared hints and tips on how to cope with common pregnancy aches, pains and preoblems. She teaches in such an honest and fun way that it creates a lovely open atmosphere within the group. So not only did I leave feeling prepared and confident to give birth to my first child, but I also made some wonderful friends who I still see regularly five years on.
Whilst pregnant with my second child I took one of Jackies Hypnobirthing courses which helped me to give birth to my second child without pain relief and I had another very positive birthing experience. I had great fun bonding with both of my babies at Yogabubs whilst also getting a bit of a postnatal workout at the same time and made some more lovely Mummy friends.
Now a few years on and life with two little people to look after is busy and although wonderful, at times it can be quite stressful! I recently took part in Jackie’s “Introduction to Meditation” workshop and I was not disappointed. Jackie has an infectious positivity and a brilliant way with words. She explains things using science which helps you understand how and why the techniques work.
I recently started Yogabuds and I am really enjoying learning the different styles of yoga and being put through my paces a little more (I ache after this weeks class!). Five years on and I have just taken my two children and my husband to our first family yoga class which was great fun and we all hope there are many more adventures to come!
Being pregnant, giving birth and becoming a new mum can be an extremely emotional and challenging time, but Jackie has definitely played her part in helping me get through this crazy life change!
Thank you Jackie xxx”
