Why do we recommend massage during pregnancy?

Pregnancy is a joyful time, but it can also place a great strain on a woman’s body, both physically and mentally.  Having regular massage throughout pregnancy can hugely improve the experience, increase the health of both you and your baby, and in some cases make birth an easier process.  What more reason do you need?

From helping to reduce cramping, reduce the risk of varicose veins, high blood pressure and stretch marks, to relief from sciatica and poor sleep, a massage is ideal for helping you to feel calm, soothed and reconnected during these intense and special days.  We recommend that you book your pregnancy massage any time after the first 12 weeks.  Take a look at our pregnancy massage menu below, and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Pregnancy Massage with Massage Therapist Kimberley Dawn Carpenter

Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage for Pregnancy

1 hour £45, 90 minutes £65, 45 minutes £40

The name of this massage might not sound so nice, but wow is the effective massage pregnancy relief!  If you’re suffering with tired feet or water retention, manual lymphatic drainage during pregnancy can be very supportive.  This gentle massage technique helps to encourage the flow and release of excess fluid held within the tissues just below the skin.  This is why many women find it very beneficial, especially during the later stages of pregnancy, to help prevent or treat oedema.

As part of your treatment, our manual lymphatic drainage expert will support you using a range of oils and essential oils, to aid the flow of lymphatic fluid and to support relaxation and calmness, ideal as you are approaching birth.  You can find out more information here.
