Gary Moore has over 12 years experience as a Shiatsu Practitioner, and is now working from the Centre of Norwich at our tranquil and nurturing clinic. He also teachers classes in Tai-Chi.
Gary first became involved in Complementary Therapies some 18 years ago, when he undertook Tai-Chi, Qigong and Alexander Technique lessons for his own personal well being and self-development.
Since then, he has had his own Shiatsu practice around Norwich city centre for more than 12 years. Originally he began his Shiatsu Studies in 1997 with The Rosewell Clinic in Lincolnshire (Principal Sue Hix) and then with the Shiatsu College in Norwich (Principal Clifford Andrews).
Gary continues to incorporate principles of his earlier energetic work within his practice and is still heavily involved with Tai-Chi, Qigong and Yoga. In fact he runs a separate movement class incorporating these aspects – please click here for further details.
Due to Gary’s experience with Shiatsu and other therapies in centres around Norwich, he often supplements the Shiatsu session with appropriate exercise and sometimes dietary recommendations, allowing clients to feel more actively involved in the healing process.
The catalyst for Gary’s move into the fascinating world of Shiatsu was a serious whiplash injury, one which Shiatsu succeeded in treating where all other treatments had been of little lasting benefit. Gary therefore has an affinity with this type of injury and general traumas and has seen a large number of people presenting with such symptoms over the years. However his work is by no means confined to this and Shiatsu can help with a large variety of symptoms – see below for more details.
Gary Moore’s Take On Shiatsu:
Gary is delighted to be joining our complementary health centre in the heart of Norwich to offer Shiatsu. Here he describes his take on Shiatsu and how it could benefit you:
“Shiatsu can be a wonderful experience and may provide a person with the opportunity to move towards improved balance on a number of different levels. It is generally pleasant and relaxing to receive, and in my opinion and experience, one of the most powerful tools that we have to help facilitate real, lasting change in certain circumstances.
“Some studies* tend to indicate that Shiatsu is particularly effective in helping relaxation, relieving tension, improving mood, aiding muscle and joint mobility, aiding sleep and many more conditions… but Shiatsu doesn’t notice Western labels and everybody is individual and different and has their own set of energetic patterns. As a consequence many different symptoms can be relieved by encouraging the body to come back into balance.”
